Herbie Goins
Herbert Leroy "Herbie" Goins, born February 21, 1939, in Ocala, Florida, was an
American rhythm & blues singer. He started his career singing in his local
church and later formed the Teen Kings. After moving to New York City, he opened
for acts such as B.B. King and Bobby Bland. In late 1963, Goins became the
featured singer in Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated. In 1965, he began
fronting the Herbie Goins and the Night-Timers, gaining popularity among Mods
and Northern soul fans with their single "No. 1 In Your Heart" (1966) on the
