Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra
Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra (HSO) is a Swedish orchestra based in
Helsingborg. Founded in 1911, it is one of Sweden’s oldest professional
orchestras. The orchestra developed from the Helsingborg Music Society, which
promoted classical music in the city during the late nineteenth century.
Initially led by conductor Olof Lidner, the orchestra performed public concerts
and symphonic programs throughout the region. HSO has worked with several
