Jacqueline Margaret Joyce, known professionally as Helicopter Girl, was born in
1969 in St Andrews, Scotland, to a Scottish mother and Ghanaian father. She
began her career performing with the groups Mouth Music and Ambisonic before
embarking on a solo path. Her breakthrough came with the 2000 single "345
Wonderful" and the release of her debut album How to Steal the World, which
earned a Mercury Prize nomination. In 2001 she collaborated with Rod Stewart on
