Heinrich Albert

Heinrich Albert, born on July 8, 1604, in Lobenstein, Germany, was a German composer and songwriter of the Baroque period who studied under Heinrich Schütz and Johann Hermann Schein before becoming an organist at the Königsberg Cathedral in 1631. During the 1630s, he composed Lieder and Generalbass pieces, publishing eight volumes of Arien or Melodeyen in 1638 and beyond, and crafted the first musical setting of Simon Dach’s "Ännchen von Tharau".
