Hedningarna, a Swedish-Finnish band, was formed in 1987 by Björn Tollin, Hållbus
Totte-Matsson, and Anders Stake. The group blended traditional Nordic music with
modern influences such as electronic and rock, creating a unique sound that
diverged from conventional folk music. Their debut album, Hedningarna, was
released in 1989 under Alice Records. In 1992, they signed with Silence Records
and released Kaksi!, which featured Finnish singers Sanna Kurki-Suonio and Tellu
Paulasto. This album won a Swedish Grammis for Best Folk Music Album in 1993.
