Harry Betts was an American jazz trombonist and composer. He grew up in Fresno,
California, and played as a trombonist in the orchestra of Stan Kenton during
the 1950s. Betts contributed to several notable albums, including Get Happy! by
Ella Fitzgerald in 1959. His work extended beyond jazz, composing soundtracks
for films such as A Swingin' Summer (1965), The Fantastic Plastic Machine
(1969), and Black Mama White Mama (1973). The latter's music was notably
featured in the 2003 film Kill Bill, Vol. 1. Betts also released albums like The
Jazz Soul of Dr. Kildare in 1987 and Soul ...
