Hans Herbert Fiedler, born Hans Fiedler on November 10, 1907, in Trieste, was a
German opera singer known for his bass roles. He initially studied Germanistics
and acting at the University of Graz. Fiedler made his stage debut in 1930 at
the Theater Troppau (now Opava), where he performed until 1935. He later joined
the Volkstheater Munich and worked as a radio speaker for the Munich station
from 1937 to 1940, before studying singing in Munich and later with Moretti in
