Half Japanese
Half Japanese, an American art punk band, was formed in 1974 by brothers Jad and
David Fair following their family's relocation to Uniontown, Maryland. The duo
initially consisted of a small drum set, an out-of-tune guitar, and vocals.
Their first single "Calling All Girls" was released in 1977, followed by their
triple album 1/2 Gentlemen/Not Beasts in 1980. The band's lineup evolved over
time, incorporating additional members. In the late 1980s, a stable unit
