Gyan Evans, known mononymously as Gyan, was born circa 1960 in Geelong,
Australia. She is a singer-songwriter and record producer who began her musical
journey with the Sydney band Haiku before achieving widespread recognition by
winning the 1986 grand final of the local version of the TV talent quest Star
Search. This victory led to a recording contract with Warner Music. Gyan's debut
self-titled album was released in October 1989 and peaked at Number 27 on the
ARIA Albums Chart. The album featured notable singles such as "Wait", which
