Guy Johnston, born on May 7, 1981, in Harpenden, England, is a British cellist.
He began his musical journey at King's College, Cambridge, as a chorister and
later attended Chetham's School of Music in Manchester. In 2000, he won the BBC
Young Musician of the Year award, which marked his breakthrough moment.
Following this achievement, Johnston made his concerto debut at The Proms in
2001, performing Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto with Leonard Slatkin and the BBC
