Guty Cárdenas
Augusto Alejandro Cárdenas Pinelo, born on December 12, 1905, in Mérida,
Yucatán, Mexico, was a singer, guitarist, and composer who became a key figure
of the Yucatecan trova. Early training at the Escuela Modelo and influence from
his parents’ musical background led him to compose and perform locally, forming
a duet with Chalín Cámara that yielded early recordings. In 1927, he moved to
Mexico City, debuting with the composition "Nunca" and signing with Huici, later
