Gustav
Pascal Vonlanthen, known professionally as Gustav, was born on April 29, 1975 in
Fribourg, Switzerland. His musical aptitude manifested early; by sixteen he was
composing and performing publicly, and he began his solo career in 1998 with the
debut album Die Erste, presented with his ensemble Das Kummerorchester. He
followed this with Gegen Süden – Vers le Sud (2000), his first record to feature
his bilingual French–German style. Subsequent albums followed: Rosemary’s Bar
(2002), Ultra Vista (2005), Les Jardins de mon Coeur (2007), the 2010 release
