Madeleine Haenlein, born in London, United Kingdom, is an English
singer‑songwriter and guitarist known professionally as Gretel Hänlyn, then
simply Gretel. Growing up in West London, she began writing music in her teens
and released her debut single "Slugeye" in September 2021, followed by the EP
Slugeye in May 2022. In January 2022 she issued the single "Motorbike" and later
singles "Apple Juice" and "Drive" that year, building a growing fan base. Her
