Thomas Pablo Croquet, professionally known as Thomas Mars, born on November 21,
1976, in Versailles, France, is a French musician and the lead singer of the
indie pop band Phoenix, whose career began in the mid‑1990s. After dropping out
of college, he formed the indie pop band Phoenix with school friends Chris
Mazzalai and Deck d’Arcy, adopting the stage name Thomas Mars to create a more
