Gong is a French-British progressive rock group founded by Daevid Allen
(1938-2016) and Gilli Smyth (1933-2016). The duo emerged from the late 1960s
underground scene, with Daevid Allen’s first album Magick Brother released in
1970. Their early work blended psychedelic, jazz, and space rock, culminating in
Camembert Electrique (1971) and Flying Teapot (1973), produced by Virgin
