Glen Velez
Glen Velez, born in Dallas, Texas, is an American percussionist known for his
expertise in frame drums from around the world. He began playing jazz on the
drums before transitioning to hand drums, particularly frame drums, and sought
out teachers from various musical traditions. Velez's compositions often
featured cross-cultural ensembles and polyrhythms, showcasing his unique musical
vocabulary. His early works include Internal Combustion (1985), Doctrine of
