Giulia
Giulia Anghelescu was born on 7 November 1984 in Galați, Romania, and is a
Romanian pop singer known mononymously as Giulia. She began performing at age
six on the children’s show Tip Top Minitop and released her first cassette in
1995. In 2000, she joined the girl group Candy, before leaving in 2004 to pursue
a solo career. Her debut solo album, Giulia (2004), was followed by Fluturi
(2006) and Primul Pas (2008). From 2009 to 2011, she was the lead singer of the
dance-pop group DJ Project, recording hits including "Nu," "Regrete," and "Mi-e
dor de noi."
