Gitarkameratene, a Norwegian folk music supergroup, was formed in 1987 when
Lillebjørn Nilsen, Halvdan Sivertsen, and Øystein Sunde performed together at
the Sarpsborg music festival. The trio invited Jan Eggum to join, forming a
quartet that released their debut album Gitarkameratene in 1988. Their second
album, Typisk Norsk, was released in 1989 and won the Spellemannsprisen for Best
Folk Album in 1990. The group toured extensively until 1994, when they took a
hiatus to focus on solo projects. They reunited periodically for tours and
