Giorgos Zampetas, born on January 25, 1925, in Athens, Greece, was a Greek
bouzouki musician, composer, and singer. He showed an early interest in music,
playing melodies on a bouzouki while helping his father in the barber shop and
winning his first prize at seven years old. In 1942, during the German
occupation of Greece, he founded his first band after moving to the Egaleo
neighborhood of Athens. Zampetas worked extensively in Greek cinema, notably
contributing to the film Siko Horepse Sirtaki. He released several albums
