Giannis Poulopoulos, known as John Poulopoulos, was born in 1941 in Kardamýli,
Greece, and was a notable Greek singer. He began his musical journey at a young
age and secured an audition with Columbia Records in 1963 after persistent
efforts. His performance of "Mána mou kai Panagía" and "Párapono" impressed
Míkis Theodorákis, who mentored him. Poulopoulos' first recordings included
"Stróse to stróma sou gia dyo", "Dóxa tow Theó", and "To psomí einai sto
trapézi". He released several singles and EPs before signing with Lyra Records.
