Georgia Brown, born Lillian Claire Klot on October 21, 1933, in London, England,
was a singer and actress. She began her career as a nightclub singer, adopting
the professional name Georgia Brown. At age 17, she appeared at the Embassy Club
in London and released her first records, "A Friend of Johnny’s" and "Sweet
Georgia Brown", for Decca Records in May 1951. Brown's breakthrough role was
Nancy in Oliver!, which she created in the original 1960 London production and
