Gary Ronnie Stewart, born on May 28, 1945, in Jenkins, Kentucky, was an American singer known for his distinctive vibrato voice and outlaw country sound. He began playing guitar and piano as a teenager, touring with local bands and writing songs. Stewart later met country singer Mel Tillis, who advised him to move to Nashville. His breakthrough came when he signed with RCA Records and recorded his cover of "Ramblin' Man" in 1973.
