Gary Morris, born Gary Gwyn Morris on December 7, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas, is
an American singer. He began his music career after performing at a Colorado
Springs nightclub. In the early 1970s, he sang in Denver nightclubs and wrote
commercial jingles for Frontier Airlines. His breakthrough came when Nashville
producer Norro Wilson signed him to Warner Bros. Records in 1980. Morris' first
top 40 hit was "Headed for a Heartache" (1981), followed by several top 15
