Gallery, a soft rock band, was formed in 1971 in Detroit, Michigan, by Jim Gold, who served as lead vocalist and songwriter. Gold’s initial songwriting efforts culminated in the single "Nice to Be With You" in 1972, a track written by Jim Gold and arranged by Dennis Coffey and Mike Theodore, which was released on Sussex Records and reached number 4 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, remaining on the chart for 22 weeks, and earning a gold record for one million sales; the song also topped the Cashbox chart and reached Number 1 on WCFL and WLS.
