Garrett “G. Love” Dutton met drummer Jeffrey Clemens in 1993, and the trio
formed G. Love & Special Sauce, adding bassist Jim Prescott shortly thereafter.
The band’s breakthrough came with the 1994 single "Cold Beverage" from their
self‑titled debut G. Love and Special Sauce, which received significant MTV
rotation and brought the group close to gold certification. In 1995 the duo
released Coast to Coast Motel, followed by Yeah, It’s That Easy in 1997, which
highlighted collaborations with artists such as Dr. John. The 1999 release
