Funky Aztecs
The Funky Aztecs, a rap group from Vallejo, California, were formed in 1989 by
Merciless, Sapo Loco, and Indio. The band's debut album Chicano Blues (1992) was
recorded between August 1990 and October 1991. In 1997, Sapo Loco left the
group, leading to the addition of Juego and Mainey Mo. The Funky Aztecs gained
attention with their collaboration on "Slippin' Into Darkness" (1997) featuring
2Pac. The band released subsequent albums including Day of the Dead: Dia de Los
Muertos in 1995 and Addicted in 1999.
