Frode Alnæs is a Norwegian jazz guitarist and composer. After completing high
school in Kristiansund, he attended the Nordmøre Music Folk High School from
1978 to 1979, followed by studies in Trondheim (1979–82). He was among the first
graduates of the Jazz program at the Trondheim Musikkonservatorium in 1982.
Alnæs began his career with collaborations on albums such as Lone Attic and Keep
Nose in Front. His breakthrough came with the band Dance with a Stranger,
releasing their self-titled album in 1987, which won Spellemannprisen for Pop.
