Freddy Fresh
Freddy Fresh is an American disc jockey and producer born as Frederick Schmid in
Minneapolis. He achieved professional recognition for a musical career that
began after being introduced to the hip hop scene in 1984. Schmid achieved
professional recognition for collecting DJ tapes from the musicians Shep
Pettibone and Marley Marl and recordings by the Jonzun Crew and Liquid Liquid.
His recording career began with a remix for the studio recording The Man & His
