Frank Hewitt, born on October 23, 1935, in Queens, New York, was an American hard bop jazz pianist. Raised in Harlem, his early musical influences came from his mother, a church pianist, leading him to classical and gospel music before transitioning to jazz inspired by Charlie Parker. Hewitt's career also included collaborations with artists such as John Coltrane, Dinah Washington, and Billie Holiday.
