Frank Comstock, born on September 20, 1922, in San Diego, California, United States, was a composer, conductor, trombonist, and arranger who began his career without formal training, except for a few trombone lessons. He started writing arrangements for local San Diego dance bands while still in high school. His breakthrough came when he joined Sonny Dunham's nationally known dance band.
