Frances Ann Makris, known professionally as Fran Jeffries, was an American
singer, dancer, actress, and model born on May 18, 1937, in Palo Alto,
California. She began her career as a singer and dancer, initially performing
with Bob Scobey's orchestra. Her breakthrough moment came when she collaborated
with Dick Haymes, her first husband, leading to the composition of Dave
Frishberg’s "Peel Me a Grape". Jeffries made her film debut in The Buccaneer in
