Fokofpolisiekar

Fokofpolisiekar, an Afrikaans alternative rock band from Bellville, near Cape Town, South Africa, was formed in April 2003. The group gained initial attention with their provocative name and debut EP As Jy Met Vuur Speel Sal Jy Brand (2003). Their breakthrough came when "Hemel op die Platteland" became the first Afrikaans song to be officially playlisted on national radio station 5FM. The band released several albums, including Lugsteuring (2004), the EP Monoloog in Stereo (2005), and Swanesang (2006).
