British rock band FM, formed in London during the summer of 1984, initially
consisted of bassist Merv Goldsworthy and drummer Pete Jupp from Samson,
vocalist/guitarist Steve Overland and lead guitarist Chris Overland from
Wildlife, and keyboardist Philip Manchester from The Invaders. By December 1984,
FM had secured a recording contract with CBS/Portrait after writing six songs.
Their first public appearance in the UK was on Valentine’s Day 1985 at London's
