Flávio José Marcelino Remígio, known professionally as Flávio José, was born in
Monteiro, Brazil, on September 1, 1951. He is an accordionist and
singer-songwriter specializing in tango music and world music. Known as the
"King of Xote", he began singing at the age of 5, drawing inspiration from Luiz
Gonzaga and Dominguinhos. His career began with the release of his debut album
Só Confio em Tu in 1977. Over the years, Flávio José released numerous albums,
including Nordestino Lutador (1994), Tareco e Mariola (1995), and Seu Olhar Não
Mente (2000).
