Flash, an English progressive rock band, was formed in August 1971 by former Yes
guitarist Peter Banks, vocalist Colin Carter, bassist Ray Bennett, and drummer
Mike Hough. The group recorded its debut album in November 1971 and performed
its first gig on January 14, 1972. Flash achieved a notable hit with "Small
Beginnings" (1972), which peaked at Number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and
