Lead singer of the iconic neo-progressive rock band Marillion from 1981 to 1988, William Derek Dick aka Fish went on to pursue a sustained solo career. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on April 25, 1958, he became interested in progressive rock as a teenager, then worked at various manual jobs while auditioning for bands looking for a singer.
