Finbar Furey
Finbar Feargal Furey, born on September 28, 1946 in Ballyfermot, Dublin,
Ireland, is an Irish folk musician known for his multi-instrumental skills.
Starting at a young age with the Uilleann pipes under the guidance of his
musician father Ted, Finbar won several titles by his teens. He began his
musical career touring in the 1960s with his brother Eddie Furey and later
backed the Clancy Brothers from 1969 to 1970. In 1972, the duo won Single of the
Year awarded by John Peel. Finbar went on to form the Fureys with his brothers,
achieving hits such as "When You Were Sweet Sixteen" ...
