Erstwhile Japanese rock troupe Field of View blossomed in 1995 with their first
studio album, Field of View 1, which peaked at Number 1 on Japan's Oricon chart.
Having assembled as a group the previous year, vocalist U-ya Asaoka, guitarist
Takashi Oda, keyboardist Jun Abe and drummer (later bandleader) Takuto Kohashi
signed to Tokyo's Zain Records – part of the Japanese private entertainment
conglomerate Being Incorporated – under the initial name of View. They released
two singles and an EP, before replacing Abe with bassist Kenji Niitsu and
