Jazz pianist Fergus McCreadie was born in Jameston, Scotland, on July 12, 1997.
He grew up in the Clackmannashire town of Dollar, where he began playing the
bagpipes in a band, before turning to the piano at the age of twelve. His
parents bought him a second-hand instrument to practice on, followed by an
electric piano. He studied at the Dollar Academy, then at the Royal
Conservatoire of Scotland with Tommy Smith, who took him on as a member of his
