Eurogliders were formed in Perth, Western Australia, in 1980 by guitarist and
vocalist Bernie Lynch, keyboardist Amanda Vincent, and later joined by Grace
Knight on lead vocals; the group emerged from the earlier band The Stockings and
Living Single. Their breakthrough came with the 1984 single "Heaven (Must Be
There)", which peaked at number 2 on the Australian singles chart and entered
the US Billboard Hot 100, and the album This Island, released in May 1984 and
produced by Nigel Gray, which reached number 4 on the Australian albums chart.
