Eugenio Toussaint Uhthoff, born on October 9, 1954, in Mexico City, was a
Mexican pianist and composer known for his contributions to jazz. He began his
professional career at 18 and later studied privately with Jorge Pérez Herrera
and Néstor Castañeda. At 21, Toussaint joined the Blue Note band led by Roberto
Aymes, performing across Mexico. The following year, he founded Sacbé, a group
notable for its impact on Mexican jazz. Returning to Mexico in 1986, he focused
on composing chamber music, which was performed by ensembles such as the
Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional. His albums Ga...
