Ether
Ether was an alternative rock band from Blackwood, Caerphilly, Wales, formed in
1996 by Rory Meredith (vocals, guitar), Gareth Driscoll (vocals, bass) and Brett
Sawmy (drums); Rory Meredith had previously used the name for a teenage project.
Their first release appeared on the Regal label in 1996 with the single "If You
Really Want to Know", which set the stage for a signing with Parlophone Records,
where they issued three singles that charted in the UK Top 100 -"She Could Fly"
"Watching You" , and "Best Friend" as well as the debut album Strange in 1998.
