Essie Jain
Essie Jain, a singer-songwriter from London, England, received a diverse musical
education that included opera training, piano, and cello. She moved to New York
City in 2001 and began recording her performances on an eight-track recorder in
2004. Her first release was "Why" on the compilation The Sound the Hare Heard
(2006).
Essie Jain's debut album, We Made This Ourselves, was also released in 2006 and
drew comparisons to Sandy Denny and Vashti Bunyan. Her second album, The
