Éric George Yves Marie Serra, born 9 September 1959 in Saint‑Mandé,
Val‑de‑Marne, France, is a French composer, songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist,
bassist, drummer and actor. He learned guitar at five, later mastering drums,
bass, synth and piano under the guidance of his poet father, Claude Serra. His
first professional engagements were in 1976 with Michel Murty and studio
sessions for Mory Kanté and Didier Lockwood, leading to a collaboration with Luc
