Eric Jacobsen, born on July 16, 1982, in Long Island, New York, is an American
conductor and cellist. He was exposed to music from a young age through his
parents, Edmund Jacobsen and Ivy Jacobsen, both accomplished musicians. Jacobsen
graduated from the Juilliard School and co-founded Brooklyn Rider and The
Knights with his brother Colin Jacobsen. His career began with extensive
recordings and tours as a member of The Knights, an orchestral collective known
