Eric Bibb
Eric Charles Bibb was born on 16 August 1951 in New York City and grew up in a
musical family that included his father, Leon Bibb, and his uncle, pianist
John Lewis. He learned guitar at seven, studied psychology at Columbia, and
moved to Paris in 1970, where he met guitarist Mickey Baker. His early releases,
Ain’t It Grand (1972) and Rainbow People (1977), established him in the American
blues scene. In 1997 he issued Me to You on Code Blue, followed by albums on
Opus 3, Ruf, and Telarc such as Home to Me (1999), Roadworks (2000), A Ship
Called Love (2005), and Spirit I Am (2008...
