Enoch Light

Enoch Henry Light (born August 18, 1907, Canton, Ohio; died July 31, 1978, New York City) was an American classically trained violinist, danceband leader, and recording engineer whose career spanned the dancehall era of the 1920s and the stereo revolution of the 1960s. He formed his first orchestra at Johns Hopkins University, later studying conducting in Salzburg and Paris. His band, sometimes called The Light Brigade, broadcast from the Hotel Taft and recorded for Brunswick, ARC, Vocalion, and Bluebird from 1927 to 1940.
