Engelbert Wrobel is a German musician of traditional jazz and a bandleader. His
father taught him to play the clarinet and initially played in the local brass
band. At age 16, he won 1st prize at Jugend jazzt with his band Happy Jazzmen.
Wrobel studied classical clarinet at the The Robert Schumann University of Music
Düsseldorf and joined Rod Mason's Hot Five in 1986, touring Europe with them for
over three years. In 1989, he founded Swing Society, which collaborated with
