Emmanuel Top, born on 30 October 1971 in Tourcoing, France, is an electronic
music producer whose career began in the late 1980s amid the New Beat scene. He
first gained attention with club‑favoured tracks such as "Cactus Rhythm" and
"Raw Mission" released under the pseudonym Plexus, which attracted the attention
of Belgian label DIKI Records and later led to the establishment of his own
studio, Le Studio des Ondes, in 1992. In 1995 he signed with Novamute, a
subsidiary of Mute, and released Asteroid and the single "Lobotomie", the latter
frequently played by DJs like The Chemica...
