Eloy is a German progressive rock and art rock ensemble from Hannover
established in 1969. They achieved professional recognition for a musical career
characterized by art rock with heavy use of synthesizers and for being one of
the most influential bands in the German rock scene during the 1970s. The
ensemble was founded by the musician Frank Bornemann and named after the Eloi
